I’ve been in rooms where decisions get made, and I’ve been in communities where those decisions hit hardest. That gap is where most politicians live. It’s why too many people feel like nobody is speaking for them.
That’s why I’m supporting Nick Albares.
Not because he’s perfect. Not because he’s polished. But because his work and his record show something we don’t get enough of in Louisiana: alignment between policy and people.
Nick didn’t just wake up and decide to run. He’s been doing the work. Years of it. Helping families navigate systems that too often fail them. Standing with nonprofits, veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Not talking about it. Doing it.
And that matters to me.
Because I’ve spent my life in the trenches too. Health equity. HIV advocacy. Community development. I know what it looks like when systems don’t work. I know the difference between someone who studies the problem and someone who has sat with people living through it.
Nick understands that.
This Ain’t About Politics. It’s About Outcomes.
Too many campaigns are built on slogans. Nick’s is built on substance.
He’s talking about healthcare like it’s a right, not a privilege. Expanding access. Protecting Medicaid. Lowering drug costs. Keeping rural hospitals open.
That’s not theory. That’s survival in Louisiana.
He’s talking about workers like they matter. Raising wages. Strengthening the Earned Income Tax Credit. Making sure families can actually breathe.
That’s not politics. That’s dignity.
He’s talking about restoring integrity in government. And let’s be real, we need that now more than ever.
Because people don’t just want representation. They want trust.
I Watch How People Move
Anybody can say the right thing when the camera is on.
I pay attention to what you did before the spotlight.
Nick served as a policy advisor to Governor John Bel Edwards and helped protect Medicaid expansion in Louisiana.
That’s real impact. Real consequences. Real lives.
He’s spent nearly two decades inside these systems, working to make them better for everyday people.
That tells me he understands both the fight and the process.
And if you’ve ever tried to move anything in Louisiana, you know you need both.
This Is Bigger Than One Race
Let’s be clear. Louisiana hasn’t sent a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in a long time.
So this isn’t just about picking a candidate. This is about shifting direction.
Do we keep accepting what we’ve been getting?
Or do we take a real shot at building something different?
Nick is running on the idea that when people can thrive, communities get stronger.
Simple. But powerful.
Why I’m Rocking With Him
I’m supporting Nick Albares because I believe in results over rhetoric.
Because I’ve seen what happens when healthcare fails people.
Because I’ve seen what happens when families are one emergency away from collapse.
Because I’ve seen what happens when government forgets who it’s supposed to serve.
And I’ve seen what happens when the right people get in position.
Things move.
Lives change.
Communities breathe again.
This isn’t blind support. This is informed support.
And I don’t move like that unless I believe it.
Louisiana deserves better.
I believe Nick Albares is a step in that direction.
