Meet Nicole Tate-Alvarez, Collins The Brand’s National Voice

Collins The Brand is proud to welcome Nicole Tate-Alvarez as its National Voice, bringing insight, culture, advocacy, and a strong community-centered perspective to national storytelling.

Tate-Alvarez is a Baton Rouge native with what she describes as the gift of informative gab. A first-generation graduate of Southern University and A&M College, she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a background that helps shape the way she sees, understands, and interprets events, people, and the stories behind the headlines.

Her community work includes voter registration efforts and helping provide essentials for those in need. That combination of civic engagement and service gives her a grounded understanding of the national issues affecting everyday families, working-class communities, and underrepresented populations.

Tate-Alvarez is married to James, whom she calls “her person,” and together they are the parents of two sickle cell warriors. Her personal experience as a wife, mother, and advocate adds depth to how she approaches stories involving healthcare, families, access, resilience, and community support.

A fan of culture and, by all accounts, one of the best people to do trivia with, Tate-Alvarez brings personality, curiosity, and intelligence to the platform.

As National Voice, she will cover national issues, movements, people, policies, and cultural moments impacting Black, working-class, and underrepresented communities.

Through her voice, Collins The Brand continues its mission to amplify, empower, and inform by connecting national conversations to the communities and families most impacted by them.
